The Missoula Breastfeeding Coalition was formed in the spring of 2001. The Coalition's mission is to support and promote breastfeeding for families in the Missoula County and beyond. The MBC sponsors many community activities throughout the year including, the Breastfeeding Rest Stop tent, World Breastfeeding Week, and the Breastfeeding friendly Business Drive. The coalition also sponsors an educational event each year and offers lactation CEU’s to breastfeeding educators in the community.
Upcoming Events: MBC would like to help spread the word of the upcoming breastfeeding education presentation to be held in Helena March 23rd & 24th, 2014. Main speaker is breastfeeding expert and author Diana West and the event is hosted by Nursing Momma of Helena. Conference learning objectives include: At the end of the conference, the participant will be able to discuss: 1. One cause of maternal low milk production, and one infant cause of low milk intake. 2. Two new methods of increasing milk production. 3. Two potentially problematic nipple variations, and how this can affect breastfeeding. 4.
